Daly City

Daly City, California, is a San Francisco suburb with a great atmosphere. With a population of over 100,000 people, this is the largest city in San Mateo County, and it is located directly south of San Francisco. The city was named after the businessman John Daly who originally founded the city and it was officially incorporated in 1911.

Daly City has many businesses that employ large numbers of people. Seton Medical Center is the largest of these with over 1,600 employees working there. There are also several schools in the area, making education a large industry in Daly City, too. Other big employers in this area include Target, McDonald’s, and Walgreen’s.

The city takes up a touch over seven square miles and has easy access to nature areas. There are many unincorporated areas surrounding Daly City, and San Bruno Mountain State Park is located nearby. This provides the city with a perfect mixture of suburban and rural atmosphere. Lake Merced is also located near to Daly City. You are close to big cities, but nature is also right in your backyard. This definitely gives Daly City a unique feel that is hard to come by in this portion of California.
